Focus area of the position are modern methods for quantum field theories and their application in elementary-particle or many-body physics. The position is expected to make substantial and internationally visible contributions to, complement, and expand current research activities at the department, in particular at the Institute for Theoretical Physics (TPI). A contribution to existing research and training infrastructures within the focus area "Gravitational and Quantum Theory" at the department is expected. Connections to the topics of the profile line Light of the university are welcome. Teaching should cover the whole range of theoretical physics and quantum field theory. An involvement in academic self-administration is expected.
