Professor W1 (with tenure track to W2) in Analysis

in the Institute of Mathematics, which is available with immediate effect.

Candidates should be recognized for research in a modern part of analysis, such as global, harmonic or geometric analysis, operator theory, spectral theory, quantum theory, Hamiltonian dynamical systems and KAM theory. Connections to current research strengths at the department and the university are desirable. The capability for scientific cooperation within and outside of the department is expected. The duties include the participation in the teaching in the teacher training, bachelor's and master's degree programmes offered in Mathematics and service for other faculties.

Candidates should have an outstanding doctorate in Analysis and will ideally have developed international research collaborations. Applicants are expected to have started to demonstrate their potential to produce international publications and for a quality teaching and supervision of undergraduate and graduate students. Experience in the acquisition of third-party funding would be an asset.

Applicants for this position must hold a university degree, be able to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, and have a proven research track record that is normally demonstrated by an outstanding doctoral thesis. The length of their doctoral studies and employment period should not exceed six years in total. The initial appointment will be for four years. After a positive evaluation it will be extended for two more years. Upon successful completion of the final review after six years of employment, the position will be promoted to a professorship paid on salary scale W2.
